Excited to announce the new single Never Felt This Good, recorded with The Space Brothers and DT8 Project. It's been nearly 20 years since I worked with both of these amazing songwriters and producers! Oxygen (Am I In Your Mind - which recently got a refresh from C Systems) and Winter, were big hits back in the day and enabled me to tour the world for a fair few years for which I am truly grateful.

Fast forward to 2024 and the boys asked me to vocal this Trance banger! It's epic, its europhic and it's so very us! Armada Music says...

"A coming-together of trance legends, The Space Brothers, DT8 Project and Andrea Britton’s ‘Never Felt This Good’ is exactly what people want to hear from classic trance. Channelling nostalgia, emotion and euphoria, this track is a quintessential trance piece sure to stand the test of time."

Thanks also to Armin Van Buuren for dropping this as a world exclusive on A State Of Trance.

Lyrics

The voice that you hear at the back of your mind

The faith that you feel that can only be blind

The truth that would cut like the edge of a knife

The doubt that remains that there’s only one life

My heart is open, My soul has understood

I’ve never felt this good...

<![CDATA[Nature's gifts]]>https://www.andreabritton.com/post/natures-gifts6638939189b429661e979f98Mon, 06 May 2024 10:17:24 GMTAndrea BrittonThis is a gentle reminder to stop, look, and listen.

"Pick me up!" said the stone.

"Why?" I dubiously asked as I stared at it among millions of others on the shore.

In the following moments, I naturally attempted to make sense of the 'why'. In the next noisy minutes, a million thoughts entered my doing mind and my head, now fully engaged, started on its usual analytical path in search of resolve.

natures gifts

'Perhaps I could write on the stone, or make something with the stone. A door stop perhaps? A gift? Or maybe it could sit with my other special stones in the loo? Buy why is it special? It's not particularly pretty, nothing stands out about the stone - it looks like a panini. I don't like paninis. I must stop eating bread...

Chatter. Chatter. Chatter.

Then for a split second, I stopped and got out of my own way. Then as clear as the sunshine in the sky and as lucid as the Mediterranean waters that surrounded me in that moment, I felt and embodied these words as if they were quietly spoken in my ear.

"Hold the stone. Place it in the palm of your poorly hand."

And without a single hesitation - I did.

Somewhere in my cells, I recognised it was the right thing to do. I was to place the stone in the palm of my hand! The hand that I broke two months ago. My right hand. The one I need most. The hand that is painful, achy, stiff, and restricted. The poorly hand that has made me feel sorry for myself, and makes me cry every day during physio. The hand that desperately needs healing.

natures gifts

This stone fitted perfectly in my palm. It nestled into each knuckle like soft cushiony clay. Symmetrical and aligned with its sea-soaked contours, every bump of my hand matched the stone's smooth surface as it sat there wholly, gently and entirely. As if it were moulded that way, just for me.

My fingers wrapped around its silhouette and gently gripped for the first time in two whole months. And I knew, in that moment, that I needed the stone and all that it is. I knew it was going to help me heal. It was a blissful reminder to shut the fuck up because only then, can we truly listen and as I felt the gifts of nature everywhere I knew the universe always has my back - if I allow it of course.

In that quiet moment, nature spoke to me and I respectfully disengaged my mind enough to hear her and receive her gift. And all in the space of five minutes!

I will gratefully work with that stone every day until my hand works as it should again, and until this perfect stone is needed elsewhere.

<![CDATA[How to Effectively Manage Your Facebook Business Page]]>https://www.andreabritton.com/post/how-to-effectively-manage-your-facebook-business-page66ab6d8a804c585a5a5ecfbfFri, 01 Dec 2023 00:00:00 GMTAndrea BrittonYou're missing out! there's much more to just Posting on your Facebook Business Page.

Managing a Facebook Business Page is crucial for building your brand, engaging with customers, and driving sales. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you optimize your page and effectively connect with your audience.

facebook business page

1. Set Up Your facebook business Page Correctly

 • Choose the Right Page Type: When creating your page, select the category that best fits your business (e.g., local business, company, brand).

 • Complete Your Profile: Fill out all sections, including your profile picture, cover photo, and About section. Use high-quality images and clear descriptions that reflect your brand identity.

 • Add Contact Information: Include your business phone number, email address, website, and physical location, if applicable, to make it easy for customers to reach you.

2. Post Regularly and Consistently

 • Create a Content Calendar: Plan your posts in advance to ensure a steady flow of content. Aim for a mix of promotional, educational, and engaging posts.

 • Post Frequency: Aim for at least 3-5 posts per week. However, quality is more important than quantity, so focus on creating valuable content.

 • Use Scheduling Tools: Tools like Facebook's Creator Studio or third-party apps can help you schedule posts in advance, allowing you to maintain consistency even when you're busy.

3. Engage with Your Audience

 • Respond Promptly: Monitor comments and messages regularly. Responding quickly shows that you value customer feedback and are dedicated to service.

 • Encourage Interaction: Ask questions, run polls, and invite feedback to encourage engagement. The more you interact, the more likely your posts will appear in followers' feeds.

 • Utilise Facebook Stories & Reels: Use Stories and Reels to share behind-the-scenes content, promotions, or quick updates. Stories are a great way to engage followers in a more casual format.

4. Analyse Your facebook business page Insights

 • Track Performance: Regularly review Facebook Insights to analyse the performance of your posts. Pay attention to metrics such as reach, engagement, and audience demographics.

 • Adjust Your Strategy: Use the data to understand what types of content resonates most with your audience. Adapt your posting strategy based on these insights to improve engagement.

 • Promote Your Posts: Boosting posts can increase visibility and engagement, especially for content that performs well organically.

 • Monitor Ad Performance: Regularly check the performance of your ads and adjust your strategy based on results.

6. Maintain Your Brands Voice

 • Be Consistent: Ensure your tone and messaging align with your brand’s identity. Whether you’re being formal, friendly, or humorous, consistency builds trust.

 • Use Visual Branding: Incorporate your brand colours, logos, and fonts in your visuals to create a cohesive look across your page.

7. Stay Updated on Trends and Changes

 • Follow Industry Trends: Stay informed about trends in your industry and on social media to keep your content fresh and relevant.

 • Adapt to Facebook Updates: Facebook frequently updates its algorithms and features. Stay informed about changes to ensure your strategy remains effective.

8. Leverage User-Generated Content

 • Encourage Reviews and Testimonials: Positive reviews build trust and can influence potential customers. Encourage satisfied customers to leave feedback on your page.

 • Share User Content: Highlight posts from customers who tag your business. This not only engages your audience but also provides social proof of your brand’s value.

<![CDATA[Nourishing Tools. Mine Don't Stop At Digital. ]]>https://www.andreabritton.com/post/nourishing-tools655465c6e49f0a39cb93e7eaWed, 15 Nov 2023 08:35:27 GMTAndrea BrittonNourishing tools for Balanced Businesses.

Me and my business are one and the same thing. I AM my business. My business is ME. I have never believed there should be (or is) a segregation. Work - personal.. although we have been told that for centuries. I bring all of me to my business. Yes ALL of me.! I channel through my business. Angry, determined, vexed Andrea gets shit done. Quiet, peaceful, emotional Andrea creates - with heart.

We spend the majority of our time at work, and our time is our life so - why on earth should it not be something we choose? Something we enjoy? Something we CARE about? Why should it not feel peaceful and balanced?

Don't you feel then that the 'work-life-balance' takes on new meaning? The balance becomes about you. Finding that all-important balance between body, mind and soul. Surely - that's the holy trinity!? Would love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments below.

I yearn for a safe, peaceful working space for all of us, where everyone is fully SEEN and accepted. I pray for an environment for all where there is no need to edit oneself and where vulnerability is strength and creativity praised.

I've been lucky to have that and it was a choice. I have worked for myself all my life. I have never had a boss. I've created every job I have had. I have forged a career from my own raw skillset time and time again. It's not been an easy ride but -I'm proud of that now at the age of 50. I haven't been in the past, because society told me not to be. I was the outcast. Finally, it is celebrated!

I recently found out I am a Manifester by Human Design. We make up 9% of the world's population. This makes sense to me.

I'm a Pisces Sun with a Leo Rising and a stubborn Taurus moon (which perhaps led me to Gozo, an island covered in calcite crystal - but that's another conversation). I have learned what I need to balance my nervous system and experience peace in my life.

 • I live in a quiet and peaceful place.

 • I moved close to the sea.

 • I swim.

 • I meditate.

 • I have loooong periods of silence.

 • I write.

 • I stare at my dog. (Those eyes!)

 • I sing.

 • I dance.

My surrender was real. Sacrifices have been made. I miss family and friends ALL THE TIME but my internal authority has to govern my existence and I need as much freedom as possible to live my life and carve out my destiny according to my own rules.

So...why am I telling you all this?

Well - quite simply, to maintain the flow. I understand more about me now than ever. One of the many gifts of getting older. That being said, and as I am committed to continuing my journey of self-exploration and there are certain tools I need to tap into to support and guide me. They change all the time but I feel as a woman in business in these times, it's important we talk about and share these things. Things that were hidden in the previous paradigm. Things that need to be visible in these, our times.

By checking in with the SELF regularly you start to learn what you need and where you need to be. I have taken this one thing seriously for the past five years. I have never compromised that time and have always given myself regular check-ins. Even if they have been brief. This looks different for everyone...but if in doubt, ask yourself...

 • How am I right now?

 • What do I need?

 • How can I get that?

I'm currently studying with Danielle LaPorte. It's a leadership programme. It's heart centred. It's exactly what I need in this moment. It will enable me to help serve those I need to and continue to keep my businesses conscious and growing. It's a programme being taken into corporates to heal the nervous systems of their internal structures and a programme that will enable potent, intimate one on one sessions.

Yesterday we talked about how we heal the world. A phrase on countless lips as we read daily, about our heartbreaking times.

The resounding answer was, that we start with ourselves. We heal ourselves. These are traumatic times and we are energetic beings who pick up on all energies from anywhere. Our trauma. Past trauma. Our neighbours trauma...it goes on. Our nervous system will have the most direct response to that trauma.

Therefore we need to understand what it needs to feel peace. We need to CREATE peace. If you create peace for yourself, you will by default, create it for those around you.

What a gift!

There are many souls leaving the planet right now and those that are still here have a job to do.

my top Level nourishing Tools

 1. Every month I tune into Lee Harris. in fact I have been a portal member for 3 years. His channels resonate every time and his intuit continues to be super relevant.

 2. I read The Power Path's Monthly Forecast. The combined teachings of Jose & Lena Stevens are powerful, intuitive and educated me every time.

 3. I listen to Danielle (as above)

 4. I know my Human Design

 5. I am aware of my key astro chart stuff, and continue to learn this with my lovey client Penny Dix Astro Coach.

my current mantra - Shantideva

Shantideva was a great Indian Buddhist master who lived during the 8th century CE. Two of his texts survive - "Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior" (Bodhisattvacharyavatara) and the "Compendium of Trainings" (Shikshasamuccaya). Both texts are still used to the present day by and especially "Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior" is one of the most cherished and most frequently taught texts in the Tibetan tradition.

Nourishing Tools

Shantideva wrote The Bodesatva way which coined the belief that we will continue to come back until all beings are free of suffering. I believe that too. I believe we are in this together, for the long game. So it is up to us to heal and help heal in this lifetime.

We in this together, for the long game. Its up to us.

Look for his APP - it gives you daily quotes from his texts.

I LOVE THIS PRAYER and it is even more poignant at this time...

May I be a guard for those who need protection, a guide for those on the path. A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood.

May I be a lamp in the darkness, a resting place for the weary,

A healing medicine for all who are sick, a vase of plenty, a tree of miracles.

And for the boundless multitudes of living beings, may I bring sustenance and awakening, enduring like the earth and sky,

until all beings are freed from sorrow, and all are awakened.

Shantideva

my current nourishing MEDITATION

My quiet time is essential for me to function. I function better if I have had time for me. Time to sit quietly and stare into space. To dream. To feel. I connect to my higher being and hear necessary guidance and strengthen the synapses from there to my heart and gut.

If I don't, I'm a mess!

This is my current favourite healing meditation used to pray for healing energy for our friends, family, and ourselves. It taps into the energies of the sun, moon, earth, and the Infinite Spirit and is great for healing at a distance, as it cuts across time and space. You can send healing energy to someone miles away or in the same room. Practicing the mudra and the mantra will optimize energy flow and will make this meditation all the more powerful.

Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung: The Ultimate Healing Tool

Mantra: This mantra consists of 8 basic sounds:

Ra Ma Da Sa, Sa Say So Hung

Translation:

Ra is the energy of the Sun: strong, bright and hot. It energizes and purifies. Ma is the energy of the moon: receptive, cool, and nurturing. Da is the energy of Earth: secure and personal. It is the ground of action. Sa is the impersonal Infinity. The cosmos in all of its dimensions, openness, expansiveness and totality is Sa. Sa is the impersonal Infinity. Say is the totality of experience and is personal. It is the feeling of a sacred "Thou." It is the embodiment of Sa. So is the personal sense of merger and identity. Hung is the Infinite, vibrating and real. The two qualities together (So and Hung) mean: "I am Thou."

May this or some, be helpful to you.

LIQUID SPIRIT Gozo was EPIC! It was so amazing seeing over 500 people loving Gozo Island!

It was not only our socials that have been on fire since you all left Gozo but the overwhelming feedback of staff, suppliers and local businesses has been immense. I could not be more grateful.

Watching all our hard work and planning become a reality was nothing short of joyful and to see so many happy smiling faces, and such a warm and wonderful crowd on Gozo Island topped was the icing on the cake!

It was all worth it.

I want to say a huge thank you to Vini e Capricci by Abraham's. We spent a wonderful afternoon at our Soul Food Pop Up, and it was made super special by meeting Carmen and Rose, our comp winners who we know had an enjoyable time with us dancing the afternoon away!

Danny and I are super excited to launch our 2024 dates. It might feel a long way off but there are numerous reasons why we do this that I wanted to share with you...

 1. Accommodation gets booked up to 12 months in advance on Gozo therefore if you want the pick of the bunch at the best price, it's best to bag yours early. You can still find places to stay in Gozo all year round, but the best places will be booked and you will be charged more. It's good to note that most places offer free cancellation and don't take payment until the time of booking.

 2. We are offering a holiday as well as a Boutique Festival. We want you to relax, explore and discover this wonderful island and all it has to offer.

 3. You have a year to plan around the dates and get the best flight offerings.

Early Birds on sale on Sunday 1st October at 1pm.

LSG2024 will be a little different to this year (gotta keep it fresh!) and we know you will be over the moon with what we have up our sleeves. In fact, one of the reasons Gozo is so perfect for our event is that it has so many offerings. I often call it the onion. You can keep peeling off the layers and find something new each time. There are plenty of places to explore, experiences to enjoy and most importantly, it doesn't break the bank.

The festival sites will mostly be in Xlendi and Marsalforn (in that order) and we will have Pop Ups in other locations on the island. The boats leave from Mgarr which is where you enter the island on the ferry. With this in mind, I advise to search for accommodation in those places, but, it really doesn't matter where you are as Gozo is super easy to navigate and getting around is easy, whether it be by bus, taxi, ecab or buggy!

Check Locations In Gozo Here.

Events are made special by the people who attend them. You can spend as much time as you wish creating a knockout party but if it's filled with the wrong people, what's the point? Many of your I know well, and some I was privileged to get to know this year. It has been wonderful to spend this time together and I really look forward to more of that SPIRIT in 2024.

<![CDATA[RELEASE: Simple Things]]>https://www.andreabritton.com/post/release-simple-things66acaad485124f50b92252daFri, 30 Jun 2023 23:00:00 GMTAndrea BrittonSimple Things" by Prefix One & Andrea Britton Released on Househead LDN

The eagerly awaited release of Simple Things is out now.

simple things

Simple Things" is a collaboration between myself and Prefix One

At its core, "Simple Things" is a celebration of the beauty found in life's everyday moments. It's about stripping back all the unwanted stuff and focusing on what really matters.

The lyrics were written when I arrived in Gozo and I started to look at life differently. With an emphasis on the importance of appreciating the small, often overlooked aspects of life that bring joy and contentment this resonated deeply, so I got it down!

Hooking up with Lee at Househead who loved the track and matched me with the unmistakable talent of Prefix One - and a remix from Yooks to boot - the rest is history.

<![CDATA[Do Good Things – Tell People]]>https://www.andreabritton.com/post/do-good-things-tell-people643c5080adf50cad8d03b53cTue, 18 Apr 2023 04:32:17 GMTAndrea BrittonThis is my motto. This is my truth. These are the words that have become my life’s work.

Five years ago, I chose to make Gozo my home. As the island had enriched my life in such a momentous way, I was motivated and inspired to share my skills and experience locally and build something here, rather than directing my focus elsewhere. Gozo In The House was launched during the pandemic with LOVE to;

 • Create community

 • Support local businesses.

 • Highlight the islands authenticity and contribute positively to its digital landscape.

 • Showcase the island as a wellbeing destination.

 • Increase relevant tourism at the right times through promotion and collaboration.

 • Collaborate with International partners on events.

 • Offer opportunities for local talent.

My ethos is simply to entice the right people for and at the right times to this beautiful island, to best serve and honour its' authenticity.

Recent Success

I recently found courage in the depths of my boots to brave the TVM show Shark Tank and was lucky enough to win investment. What with the platform growing, and our forthcoming event - The LIQUID SPIRIT Boutique Festival, it’s proving to be an exciting time for this little start up. Sadly, when your heads above the parapet, you are bound to ruffle feathers and an article recently published on a local news platform, did its best to vilify my good-hearted efforts. Purely speculative, their motives and morals were highly questionable, choosing to prevent focus on the real issue which is the renovation of a historic building. (The Times followed up with a more measured piece.)

Among other things, they stated I refused to offer information and was holding an event in this building - neither are true. We are in fact holding it in the large space in front of the building, where events have been held before and will be again.

If this spear carrier publication had implemented authentic investigative journalism, they would surely understand through my own dedication and writings that I have the islands best interests at heart. They would also discover that I have financially supported Din l-Art Ħelwa (an organisation committed to protecting and enhancing Malta’s built heritage) for nearly 2 years as a member. Therefore, it would be fairly easy to ascertain who's camp I am in. I would personally jump for joy to see the renovation of this building, in dire need of rescue, but how does writing a vast misrepresentation of the truth about me help this worthy cause?

No Smoke Without Some Fire (works)

Simultaneously within the same week as the publication of this article, an innocent incident occurred where a local photographer’s image of some fireworks got shared on my events Facebook Page without credit. Rather than coming to me first, and perhaps having the understanding that sometimes (God forbid!) genuine mistakes are made, the photographer chose to publish an insulting and shaming post instead which of course also paved the way for a tirade of trolls.

When promoting Gozo In The House and the LIQUID SPIRIT Boutique Festival, I endeavour to showcase the best of the island and that includes sharing relevant images. Our promotions reach on average 120K per month which I am super proud of and work hard for. Those that have worked with me through my 30 year career will know that it is not my style to not credit the talent and in the whole of those 30 years it has only ever happened once before. Conversely, I have been in that position myself many times, whereby songs that I have written have been blatantly stolen or articles and content copied.

When working 15+ hour days and doing the job of a 5-person team alone, mistakes are sometimes made.

This particular issue was dealt with swiftly, directly and professionally. Within the hour the photo had been removed. and an apology was apparently accepted although, as this article goes live, the disrespectful post sadly remains, along with any further repercussions.

The backlash from this alone has been similar to Daniel being thrown to the wolves. My treatment from the article and photo misdemeanour collectively, could be likened to a biblical stoning! Online abuse came from all corners of this small island - and of course, the local toxic Facebook Group had a field day, but joking aside, it truly is despicable treatment of one human to another.

The tragedy is people believe what they read. They hear what they want to hear, and some are just not interested or ready, for ‘the other side of the story’ let alone, kindness compassion and truth. It’s a sad fact that nobody asked to write about my recent accomplishment on the TVM programme, or praise recent news of the festival launch, or GITHs International Tourism Award which has brought Gozo to a whole new relevant market.

Luckily, I’m a solid believer that every trial and tribulation will birth a victory. My faith, strong support network and life experiences have served me well. I've survived a long-term narcissistic and abusive relationship and 20yrs+ in the male-dominated music industry so I have thankfully done the work! In fact, I would say that reaching the wonderful age of 50 this year has been a laudable triumph! I am also wise enough to know that abuse hurled from behind a screen is easy but those that are comfortable mudslinging are genuinely hurting deeply in their cells, whether they are aware of it or not.

Isn’t the digital landscape crunchy enough without making it worse?

I don’t read or watch the news. I keep abreast of what is going on through trusted sources, but I have found it good practice to step away from the triggering noise and instead feel my way through life. This is not ignorance - far from it. I am aware, and I choose to protect my nervous system while putting loving energy into the planet, rather than fear, worry, anxiety and, at worse, hatred.

I believe we have a duty to be kind and helpful in our online communities and set good, solid role models for our children. We are all responsible for the way we behave towards one another. We don’t have to agree, but we don’t have to fight either. We can accept that the things that are important to us might not be for others and we can honour and celebrate the wins in each other too - because joy cultivates more of the same.

What takes guts is having conversations that matter and sometimes that means navigating sticky and uncomfortable conversations. You'll never please everyone and you shouldn't try to, but when your truth comes from your heart, it can lead to more radical acceptance, compassionate conflict resolution, more kindness and more peace. It must start with us. In our work and the way we choose to live.

Imagine what we can co-create when we are all dancing to THAT song?

That is what new power looks like.

A New Event For Gozo

Ecclesiastes 3:4

From a vision born nearly 4 years ago, The LIQUID SPIRIT Boutique Festival is truly my life’s work to date. Combining my experience, contacts and networks from a long career, and finding the right partner, together Danny and I are bringing something new to our dancing community and to the local event scene, whilst promoting this wonderful island to the right people.

It is a total pleasure to create this soulful music experience intended to unite like-minded people, give them a reason to dance and create happy memories for all who join us.

Many local people have been working hard on this event and will be doing so daily until it is over. It's creating local jobs and opportunities plus we are bringing 400+ lovely people over from the UK to experience Gozo for the first-time. The audience is well-known to us promoters and they are of an age where they will love and respect Gozo as much as I do.

They have, and will;

 • Book accommodation and stay in local hotels, farmhouses, Airbnb’s,

 • Use local transport companies.

 • Eat in local restaurants.

 • Spend money in local shops.

 • Experience the islands through trips and tours.

This alone will no doubts amount to an injection of 600K minimum for the local economy.

That’s what love can do!

Support by getting your tickets early and joining the conversation.

And so to end where I began - “Do Good Things – Tell People.” This is my motto. This is my truth. These are the words that have become my life’s work.

Remember this? You are our people.

<![CDATA[Shedding Skin]]>https://www.andreabritton.com/post/goodbye-online-pr-uk64043e241ff13350f799376fSun, 05 Mar 2023 08:32:52 GMTAndrea BrittonGoodbye Online PR UK. We've had 17 lovely years together but it's time to shed that skin.

I unofficially started my marketing agency in London way back in 1998/1999 when I ran a bar and restaurant. I had to learn how to market the business fast but at that point, social media didn't exist and PR had to be done the old way.

Five years later. it was all about MySpace and as an artist and performer, I was probably one of the first (million) to jump on this platform. Suddenly I could tell the world I was releasing a track or had an upcoming gig. We had loads going on in the bar too, it was a total revelation.

Over the following years, platforms would come and go but the main players stood the test of time. They developed with their audience and offered more and more ways to humanise the experience of social media. I was on it like a car bonnet. Honestly - there was nothing I didn't know and as they grew, I never missed a trick. By 2012 after helping numerous friends and colleagues on their online journey, I decided to write a guide book about how to use these platforms properly and I published it. That book, One Giant Leap Into Social Media Marketing, catapulted my agency earned me my first year of paying clients and the rest is history.

My heart was always in helping creatives get their message out there. Being an artist myself, here was where I felt most comfortable, but by default, bigger clients started to trickle through and I had to step out of my comfort zone. Although mostly within the same sectors of music, hospitality and the arts, I ended up working on some pretty large projects; events, festivals, a radio station, countless start ups and tourism corporates over the next ten years.

Because of the variety of working environments and people this job gave me, I was able to step into so many skills I never knew I had. I was able to find where I was weak, and where I was strong. I learned how to delegate like a boss and understand my co-workers deeply. I learned how to bring out the best in other people. This time was super valuable and I am so grateful for these opportunities I created.

I might not have said that at the time.

It's Gotta Have Soul.

After opting for warmer climes and space to breathe, my roster now looks a little different. They say you never forget your first love and mine was helping soulpreneurs for sure. Those who are bringing something real and worthy to the table. Those who have the opportunity to make others happy, healthy, learn something new. Those who are in service to humanity in some way.

Coming up with ways to communicate a message is my favourite thing to do. Getting to the depths of my own creativity in the process while learning about the soul of my clients is a total buzz. A natural co-creation happens as we unearth what's dormant, and create channels for good messages to be heard. This will always be my life's work.

So it is with utter gratitude, I allow the guise of what was, Online PR UK, to gracefully dissolve into my past as I step into my newly owned role, of me! A female with lovtitude and a unique container of knowledge to share. I am grateful for the options to use my gifts for the greater good and I look forward to watching her unfurl...

My First Offering To You

It's been ages since I spent time with my own brand. My own offerings. I've been too busy putting that energy into others. And although my time is limited, I still want to help. I still have stuff to say, that matters.

I've done Digital Clinics in the past. Although seriously helpful, they were corporate and lacked connection. So I wondered how I could up the ante and create such an offering that would have a huge impact on the people I want to help.

So...I am launching my online Consultancy Cafe. Informal, yet wholesome time spent on you and your goals. Spend a little over an hour with me discussing where you are at with you - and your business and were you want to be. Let's share ideas and co-create your next chapter. We will brainstorm and I will consult and together we will come up with a set of proactive tasks to get you on your way. This feels right.

I look forward to serving you in this personal way.

Andrea

Having just come off the back of a huge personal life shift, the current personal circumstances Covid-19 has created for most, perhaps come just a little easier for me. Leaving what I know behind, changing thought patterns, ways of doing things...lack of income and actions and so on. They were necessary personal life changes for me to evolve.

We find ourselves in isolation.

Do you profess to save the world singlehandedly, write a book, read many books....get fitter than ever or make the Taj Mahal out of pipe cleaners?

Do you think you could create a years-worth of content for your business or start a watch party? Learn a new language perhaps?

Guilty as charged.

Will you sit and rinse Netflix for all it offers or play games until you can’t see?

Will you paint the garage or upcycle that sideboard?

Or be nominated for the parenting oscars by creating a child genius?

Perhaps. But here's the thing...

Mother Earth is calling you to just be.

Imagine, sitting, laying and just being.

Yes YOU.

Do you know who you are?

Truly?

Pause for a second.

Breathe.

Smile.

Go On!

Make that second an hour.

In that hour watch where your thoughts go.

Should..could...why..how...when...but....

Let go of the way you used to think.

The country is being forced to do just that.

Choose humankind before anything else.

Compassion, connection, communication, creativity...

Yes... all of that before ego related gains.

Make art, sleep, cry, release, move, dance.

Walk this path and others will follow

Know that the world is healing

The green is getting greener

The skies are getting bluer

Pause for now.

Your true souls purpose is in being.

It will be worth it.

My metox will never end but it has developed into a gentle path full of ups and downs lessons, clarity and love.

I sometimes document my metox journey on Instagram.

<![CDATA[The Menopause Is No Monster]]>https://www.andreabritton.com/post/the-menopause-monster5e673bcac166780017c5e2e6Sun, 08 Mar 2020 07:17:49 GMTAndrea BrittonWait, who turned up the heat? What’s that rash on my foot? Why do I feel like I’ve been run over? I want to cry, but I don’t know why. Again.

You better stay out of my way…or perhaps I’ll just hide away...

This week I was captured by the change beast. The hormone hijacker, the energy vampire. It commandeered my spirit and replaced it with a stranger.

It took my boundless energy and turned it into a lazy mess.

It filled my joyful heart with fury and turned my happy thoughts into doom and gloom.

It swiped my patience and traded it with irritation and tuned into my ego and made it roar.

It wiped away my caring nature and replaced it with apathy.

It got hold of the gills in my throat and made them pulsate until they ached.

It tuned into my hopes and dreams and made them feel small and worthless.

It stole my rosey eyes and made the world look bleak and filled them with unwanted tears until I couldn’t see.

This week I was taken over by the menopause monster and instead of fighting it, I let it in.

So I find a quiet corner to breathe and I am reminded that now is the only thing that matters. I see a single sailboat, that at first made me cry, but now I see its lone power in the middle of this wide ocean of blue. I see a solitary butterfly, dancing around the air, going about its business and enjoying its own company.

Thank you, menopause monster for stopping me in my tracks and making me strong.

Thank you for your gift of grace and for allowing me to see your beauty.

For reminding me that I am not defined by who I am or who I was, nor what I do or how I feel today.

For allowing me to just be.

It taught me how to be the heroine in this novel of mine.

To survive when the odds are stacked against me.

To dive deep into the wounds, win the battles and stand strong.

To keep my heart open through this inner, mysterious war.

To feel, once again that my wrinkles are my stripes.

That it is OK when the world keeps turning and I’m stood still.

To honour this change and laugh out loud because it doesn’t matter!

That I have time to take myself away and ground, take a breath, renew.

I felt my heavy heart of ice slowly melt.

I felt all corners of my confusion and disconnect and loved it harder than I could imagine.

I felt the ferocious mess in my stomach slowly dissipate.

I watched the fog that covered my brain, gently clear.

I felt nothing but calm.

My lessons at forty-seven?

Give me time, I will remember. Give me space, I will learn, Give me breath, I will connect. Give me gratitude, I will love.

Not all monsters are bad.

My Chick Hit Twitter List: Andrea Britton

Written for International Women’s Day.

Through the not so dark winter of 2016 I began a new hobby. I’m collecting illuminous women. No, not female ornaments that glow in the dark, but a long juicy digital list of weird and wonderful females that inspire, assert, challenge, interpret or make me laugh out loud. These are the women that look at life the way I do, or wish to. They urge me to get up in the morning, put myself out there and be part of the change. They remind me to keep my cool and make sense of what I am feeling. They help me to navigate my life with grace and aptitude and they do what they do brilliantly, with all their heart and soul. And they never, ever give up.

Much like the formidable women in my personal life. There’s no mistaking the utter release you get from spending time with your own female crew. It’s second to none. You laugh, you share, you wee, you drink, you dance, you cry, you vomit. Together. You have their backs and they have yours. All the memories, the mammories, the baggage and the wit amalgamate into one big fat hairy love affair with your beautifully cherished circle of girlfriends.

Ok, my simulated list of luscious ladies may not spend hours with me on Face Time putting the world to rights, they don’t prize me open like a tin of baked beanswhen I’m holding back, or have a cheeky boozy lunch with me on a Friday afternoon. They certainly won’t buy me knickers and flowers and nice velvety things to put on my face or for that matter, even know I exist. But similarly, if there's a problem, they will look at a situation in a different way than me and help me to see the light, they can offer just the motivation I need to finish what I have started and if I need to laugh or cry, they’ve got a bucket-load of gags and a virtual box of Kleenex at the ready.

Amen.

For these reasons and more, my uber exclusive Chick Hit Twitter List was born and I stalk the living daylights out of them all on a regular basis. It’s like the most delicious spread of exceptional cheese you could ever wish for – and the exciting thing is, there’s more to come. Some are gloopy, and better at room temperature, some hard and like the cold, some are plain and some have spicy bits added and some have been through a whole different process to others. Some, down right stink. Yes, it’s a not-yet-complete, smorgasbord of editors, journalists, artists, musicians, filmmakers, comedians, business women, teachers, charity workers, activists and friends, and filling this feline folder is now part of my weekly routine. It’s like an addiction. I read everything they’ve penned, research almost all the things they share and if they make the grade, I prudently stack them up, one by one in my #CHTL. I want to know what they are saying, who and what they are championing, what they agree or disagree with and everything in between. If something happens in the news, I go straight there to see what the general consensus is and if there is a personal situation that needs attention, I will go to the chick that knows.

I love these girls, these warriors, these trailblazers. They observe our funny old world and everything in between and make sense of it all in their own inimitable way. They tell their story with passion and present their art with utter honesty and a big fat dollop of understanding. They are positively drowning in girl-power and are anything but, anti-men. They are my modern day role models. Genuine celebrities. Caitlin Moran who translates the eras of my youth to a tee sums the notion up perfectly;

Art should be an arena to reinvent and superseded yourself. I don’t want a load of normals trudging around, moaning about water rates and blackheads. I want David Bowie pretending to be bent and from space.

Doffs hat.

Take the inspirational Joyce Bandafor example. Joyce was Malawi’s first female president and was married to an abusive man for ten years. Having come from such a patriarchal society, she did the unthinkable and left him, now she spends her time empowering women with similar stories. But, they are not all women with political power of course, I mean, I would’ve ended up with an ulcer named after my teenage son without Pulitzer Prize winning author and journalist Amy Ellis Nutt who co-wrote The Teenage Brain and Brene Brown’s ‘Vulnerability’ Ted Talk (**) was inspired - they made the list. As did Lucy-Anne Holmes, for putting a victorious stop to boobs being splashed over the national tabloids and Naomi Wolfe for writing a brilliant book about the vagina. Among other things.

Goldie Hawn, Amy Schumer, Grace Jones, Lena Dunham, Jo Brand and Sandi Toksvig are all firm A-List favourites along with Danielle LaPorte, for her transparency and prevailing business sense, Vivienne Westwood and Tracy Emin for being utterly brilliant and bonkers and Jenni and Jayne from Women’s Hour for continually being an absolute hoot! I mean, where else can you learn that a tampon could save your life in an apocalypse?

The only downside to collecting super-women, as I am rather a perfectionist, is realizing that some of your heroine’s are missing. I mean, why doesn’t Germaine Greer tweet any more? And why on earth can’t Eve Ensler* spend a bit of time on Social Media? It’s not like she’s busy or anything. In my particularly obsessive moments, I find myself waking up in the dead of the night shouting ‘Is Tina Turner on Twitter?’

She’s not in case you wondered.

Seriously though, collecting super-women is a great idea and everyone should do it. It’s much better than collecting stamps, watching mindless TV, becoming drenched in a world of self-deprecating women's magazines or going to the gym. And my top tip; Be choosy. Remember your elite group must be firmly roped off with a large VIP sign and their name is not down unless;

"They are a fearless pioneer, an activist, a tryer. Someone that makes you fizz, pop and bang with their art, honesty and commitment personified."

They are a fearless pioneer, an activist, a tryer. Someone that makes you fizz, pop and bang with their art, honesty and commitment personified. They have to stimulate, motivate, encourage, inspire and importantly, do it all with intelligence, grace and humour.

So from Paulette Perhach to Dawn French, from Miranda July to Roisin Murphy, my list says; ‘When is the world going to stop obsessing about what Victoria Beckham wears and what Cheryl’s current last name is?’ It says; 'Be inspired by the work of others!’ and ‘Don’t take life too seriously’ and ‘You can do it!' and ‘Be true to yourself at all times’ and it also says ‘Your opinion matters!’

I could go on.

Whether these girls are fighting for equal rights, to close the gender gap or transparently expressing their souls through their art, they were all given a gift and they’ve took the time to understand and refine that gift, they are pursuing it and acting upon it and their legacies already speak volumes.

So, long may my new soul hobby reign and be filled with and fueled by chicks with dicks, lovers and fighters! These are the people who should be celebrated on a daily basis and today, International Women’s Day in particular, which also happens to be my birthday, I’d like to raise a glass and say a mighty big ‘Thank you!’ for being my perpetual shiny, sexy and motivational guiding lights.

Have they finally had their day? What is it they have to do to stay current?

It was the turn of the New Year, London was about to get baltic, I’d worked hard over Christmas and I wanted out. A winter escape to save my soul. I needed a quick fix and bravely turned to the good old ‘All Inclusive’. You know the ones; queuing for the toast wheel in the morning, towels on sunbeds at the crack of dawn and a rather plump, shiny-faced man with a Bontempi organ playing Agadoo with gusto from 9pm daily.

Cue audacious traveller turning up nose.

In my defence, choices are limited when you only have a week, a certain budget and you want for nothing but sun and total relax. Plus the fact, all my creative decision making skills were sucked dry.

Husband and I chose the Iberostar, whose branding reflected that of a petrol garage - everything from the signage, to the little, boxed shower cap was fastidiously stamped with its brash, bright and uninspiring logo. One can't really imagine it ever emitting what it was meant for, plus it is a million miles away from the true philosophy and character of this Spanish chain.

Take the staff culture, for example. Reminiscent of Butlins circa 1984, it was almost refreshing, albeit a touch 'in your face'. Everyone from the reception staff, guest liaison, pool buddies (yes you read correctly) and the bar staff were flying the Iberero flag. They were friendly, fun and professional at all times and certainly deserved a better standing brand behind them to support their discernible dedication.

There must be a fair amount of imprisonment, as far as decision making goes, within these large corporate walls but I couldn't help thinking;

Has the hotel industry lost touch completely?

Have they lost control of their customers for good?

How will they scrape back the power and data it needs to improve?

And is that even possible in today's world?

Diluted Institution?

Each large corporate hotel brand has its own diluted institution that may have worked in the 80s but is currently in serious need of a rebrand. They play safe, they don’t dare upset anyone, and they don’t want to stand out too much because sitting on the fence doesn’t alienate anyone right? Again, an antiquated approach that I is most definitely holding them back.

Think about it. Do they really know whether their efforts are applauded? How do they actually know whether guests have welcomed the hotel and all that it has to offer? Who actually fills out the little anonymous forms and posts them in their ballot box before they leave? And those that do - surely only moan.

Only a very small percentage of customers book direct with hotels nowadays, most shop around and book a deal through a digital agent. So the hotel loses the power struggle. The agent wins. They know a whole lot more about us guests than the actual hotel does so how can the hotel compete once again?

Clearly, the old fashioned way still works for some. There were a fair few folk in our resort that didn’t care that theme tune to Titanic (the pan piped version) had been played five times in one morning. Some thought that the potatoes at dinner were a ‘continental’ recipe, not undercooked with far too much oil and some didn’t care that the ‘morning yoga’ was not yoga at all, but a gentle stretch on all fours on the floor.

They were satisfied. They were happy to join in. They didn’t have to cook, clean up, they could fill their faces until they were about to burst then go and sleep it off in the sun.

Life was good.

But alas, the large chain hotels are slowly being coerced by a new breed, that has been slowly emerging over the last decade and these guys have learnt by their predecessor’s mistakes.

The ‘boutique’ army of hotels know how to brand themselves are able to be a lot more personal which breeds connection. The difference being and this is key – they aren’t selling to everyone. They sell to smaller, niche markets and sell out. It’s safe and clever. This also enables 100% worth of passion to be put behind the brand, and in turn the service. Which breeds a new army of repeat business and a new era of hospitality.

Look at the power of the travel blogger. They are serious hardcore travel writers who seek out things to do, places to go that they love - making it easy for like-minded readers to seek them out and follow suit. A new hierarchy of global community broadcasting giving you the heads-up, guidance and tips on things to try and things to avoid.

We now have a new breed of media that speaks the truth, and writes in a relative way which appeases the more intelligent, brave and out of the box voyager. A contemporary traveller who searches for a lot more out of their quick winter ‘escape’.

So the question is, can a large hotel chain ever compete? Or is it equivalent to Sainsbury’s vs. the independent grocer? How can they learn about the customers? How can they improve what is actually going on inside their business? How can they survive?

I believe they have two choices.

One, they take a leaf out of Madonna’s book and reinvent themselves. Be willing to lose money and customers and ‘start again’. Transform their tired methods, style and approach into a hospitality business that caters for the modern day traveller. Wipe that Instagram clean and dry and begin from scratch.

[Ooh my favourite thing to do.]

Or two, forget branding altogether. Accept that they are stuck and play to their strengths. They are in fact, a large oversized complex near a beach with a pool, offering food, shelter and the odd bit of toe-curling entertainment. There will always be a market for it, right? Well – at least for the next 15 years.

Soon I will be an ‘old style’ traveller. And the Titanic-loving creatures of habit that have passed before me will most certainly be in the minority if not completely extinct. But until that sudden transplant from requiring the exceptional, to settling for whatever, I will continue to strive for better and I will leave the large hotel brands with this;

a) You may be happily full right now, but don't think it will always be like this. Always plan ahead, be creative and take risks.

b) Understand your world. Your offering. What makes it stand out? Different from the others? What can you do that others can't- over what is already expected?

c) Don’t waste the time you have with your precious customers in the flesh. Don't just serve them flatly like a robot. Speak their language. Befriend them. Understand them. Love them and then give them your world.
