What we see, we feel. What we feel we create.
I’ve chosen the energy of vibrant London and the tranquillity of Gozo to nourish and inspire my current journey. For me, it's the perfect balance and here's why...
I love going ‘home’, sucking up the juice and gifts that London has to offer. Spending time with F&F and plugging into my music and music family, but I also need to unplug and the Mediterranean lifestyle supports that necessity.
Gozo is a place where time slows down. The sun warms my soul, and every corner tells a story. Spending time here is a lifestyle choice and one that has shaped my creativity and artistic expression of late.
I’ve always understood the power and need for creativity. I have always believed that it is the reason we are here - to create. The ‘what’ and ‘how’ is up to us. For centuries, creators have been deemed artists, musicians, and writers, but we now understand that creativity can flow through mathematicians, accountants, plumbers, teachers, carpenters, and politicians…and not just professionally, everyone has this ability, whether they are aware of it or not.
Creativity is nurtured by what we see, hear, and feel, and a slower pace of life allows me to savour all my favourite things, all the special moments I have experienced, in a way I might not have been ready for before or could do when things are too busy.
Creativity Isn’t Something We Force; It’s Something We Allow.
In a world where chaos is the norm and being busy is worn as a badge of honour, slowing down is no longer just beneficial - it’s vital. Slower living (however that looks and feels for you) is a creative catalyst. The absence of relentless hustle gives us space to breathe and be present. Being still creates room for introspection, and with that comes clarity that fuels ideas and authentic expression. Only when we pause and create space within ourselves can we connect to this greater flow, allowing inspiration to come to and through us.
We Are Of Our Time
How we choose to spend our time, what we do, what we create, and how - is up to us. Everything we create, whether it be for the senses or to spark conversation, should be for the greater good, and that is our natural state. It begins with a feeling, a passion, an incentive, or a deep desire to express ourselves.
These creations don’t exist in isolation. They are already floating in the ether, waiting for the right person to channel them, to give them form and meaning. Ideas searching for the perfect vessel, a human life attuned enough to receive them, tell their story, and share their message with the world!
The popular quote, “What is meant for you will never miss you,” resonates deeply because it speaks to a universal truth. Each of us has a purpose, a path to walk, and a unique role to play during our time on this earth. But how do we ensure that we’re on the right path?
The answer, I believe, lies in alignment with ourselves, our intentions, and the environment around us. To truly live with purpose, we must first set intentions. What do we desire? What calls to us? What makes us happy? What brings us joy? These questions act as guideposts, steering us toward our unique creative expression - and yes - it is that simple!
Creativity Is A Collaboration Between Us, The Universe, And The Things That Bring Us Joy.
The graceful act of listening in the ether, to our inner selves, and our environment is a magical process. When we slow down, we don’t just make room for this, we co-create with the universe. We become one and work together.
The colours of a sunset, gently swaying palms and the scent of salt on a warm breeze, thought-provoking graffiti across a buzzing London street and dancing alongside like-minds are just a few of the sensory experiences that stimulate and ignite my soul.
When I create, it’s not just about replicating what I see; it’s about expressing how it makes me feel. The things I love come together in perfect harmony. That is the magic of an inspiring environment; it doesn’t just show you beauty, it makes you feel it.
When I arrived in Gozo from London, I knew I needed to stop. I was burnt out. My cup was overflowing. I needed a period of emptying. Allowing this process wasn’t easy, but it was golden, and when it came to a natural halt, new visions were crystal clear. After a six-month sabbatical of quiet reflection, new pathways started to appear; ideas were birthed and flowed seamlessly. They excited me. They were a culmination of things I loved and desired. The ‘how’ and ‘when’ they would happen weren’t important, I knew this part would be made clear at the right time.
I knew I would be a portal to help others slow down and experience this process. To help them get to know themselves again and create their own magic.
When we surround ourselves with our version of beauty, calm, and authenticity. When we connect with the earth beneath our feet and mindfully listen with an open heart, the artistic expression we all possess is let loose.
Love X
