What we see, we feel. What we feel we create.
I’ve chosen the energy of vibrant London and the tranquility of serene Gozo to nourish and inspire my current journey. For me, it's the perfect balance and here's why...
I love going home, sucking up the juice of all the gifts London has to offer, spending time with F&F and plugging into my music (a necessity), but I also love unplugging and the Mediterranean lifestyle.
Gozo is a place where time slows down. The sun warms my soul, and every corner I look, tells a visual story. It has currently become a soul choice and one that has shaped my creativity and artistic expression of late.
Creativity is nurtured by what we see, hear, and feel, and a slower pace of life allows me to savour all my favourite things, all the special moments I have experienced, in a way I might not have been ready for before or could do when things are too busy.
Creativity Isn’t Something We Force; It’s Something We Allow.
In a world where chaos is the norm, and being busy is worn as a badge of honour, slowing down is no longer just beneficial - it’s vital! Slower living - however that looks and feels for you, is a creative catalyst. The absence of relentless city hustle gives us space to breathe and be present. Being still creates room for introspection, and with that comes clarity that fuels ideas and authentic expression. Only when we pause and create space within ourselves can we connect to this greater flow, allowing inspiration to come to and through us.
We Are Of Our Time
How we choose to spend our time, what we do, what we create, and how - is up to us. Every piece of communicative art, whether visual, musical, written, or conversational, begins with a spark, a feeling, a passion, an incentive, or a deep desire to express.
These creations don’t exist in isolation. They are already floating in the ether, waiting for the right person to channel them, to give them form and meaning. Ideas searching for the perfect vessel, a human life attuned enough to receive them, tell their story, and share their message with the world!
The popular quote, “What is meant for you will never miss you,” resonates deeply because it speaks to a universal truth. Each of us has a purpose, a path to walk, and a unique role to play during our time on this earth. But how do we ensure that we’re on the right path?
The answer I believe, lies in alignment, with ourselves, our intentions, and the environment around us. To truly live with purpose, we must first set intentions. What do we desire? What calls to us? What makes us happy? What brings us joy? These questions act as guideposts, steering us toward our unique creative expression - and yes - it is that simple!
Creativity is a collaboration between us, the universe, the things that bring us joy, and the world we live in. It’s the act of listening, to the ether, to our inner selves, and to our environment. And when we slow down, we don’t just make room for inspiration; we become its partner and work together.
The colours of a sunset, the scent of salt on a warm breeze, the sound of waves crashing on ancient cliffs and dancing alongside like-minds are just a few of sensory experiences that stimulate and ignite my soul.
When I create, it’s not just about replicating what I see; it’s about expressing how it makes me feel. The things I love come together in perfect harmony. That is the magic of an inspiring environment, it doesn’t just show you beauty, it makes you feel it.
I knew when I arrived on Gozo, that I would create a festival. That I would be a portal to help others slow down and experience joy and it would also be an uplifting event to bring positive energy and things to Gozo Island. I mind mapped the whole thing after a 6 month sabbatical of quiet reflection. The vision was crystal clear. It flowed. It excited me.
It was a culmination of all the things I love, and I knew it was happening. I just didn't know how or when.
When we surround ourselves with our version of beauty, calm, and authenticity, the artistic expression we ALL posses is let loose.
Love X
