What if the core social media sites did this….?

This week I have shared 2 of my favourite guest prediction posts.  Sorry to those that didn’t get posted – but will most definitely use them in the future!

So we are the guinea pig generation right?  The ones who will teach the next lot of social media lovers. We are also the ones that can make the changes necessary for success.

Well, what if there were a few changes to our core social media sites? I would love to hear your thoughts on the following;

  1. If they allowed up to 200 characters?

  2. If they stopped letting you use links – wouldn’t you have to converse more?

  3. If they stuck a friend limit on our accounts, would that result in more quality connections?

We’ve read this week what Chris spoke about with Google and to be honest – I agree with him but;

  1. The whole searching thing with Google+ is a bore.  IT would be great if you could actually see a company brand in a directory or sorts.

  2. I don’t know about you but I find it quite difficult to work out who is following me, especially on the iPhone app.  It needs to be clearer.

  3. They say that company pages on Google will be able to have more than one admin this year.  Bring it on!

  1. I’m not a fan of the new timeline yet – can anyone give me a good reason for it?

  2. I managed up to 17 pages via Facebook therefore, it would be good for me to be able to manage multiple accounts/pages and groups from within Facebook instead of having to go in and out of each.

  3. I love the idea of being able to favourite posts, so you can refer back to them.

  4. If they wanted to give Linked In a run for their money – they should consider having a professional business profile section.

I’m pretty happy with Linked in as it stands.  It would be good if they just had a page where they showed just linked in updates.  I feel that many people use it in the same way as Google+ and Facebook, but it really is a completely different kettle of fish, therefore allowing to share updates from other social media sites is useful, but sometimes confusing.  I want to go to linked in and be professionally social, not social.

Do you have any pressing changes you would like to see happen in 2012?  Do let me know!
